Thinking about clever security design and how the original Xbox 360 menu hid the Console ID in the circles in the bottom righthand corner to help identify people who were posting leaked or hacked 360 game footage.

Teaching users to read plaintext only works if the users know how to parse it out. I always teach my users to get to the website they're being asked to log into themselves rather than click on the link provided, especially if they weren't expecting to do so beforehand.

Folks who love NFTs need to recognize that there are reasons not to love them, and not just the environmental impact. I see that you are really excited about this, but it seems kinda like no one makes money unless more people are always buying in. We have a name for that.

I was talking with an IRL friend who was using this talking point (You could use NFTs to track items between games!!) and you could hear a pin drop when he found out that you didn't /actually/ own an item the NFT points to.

Love when crypto bros discover the concept of a technology that's been around for literal decades now and pretend like NFTs invented it. In this case, this is called relational databasing. Been around for a couple of decades now.

Here's a thing crypto bros do: "this is the future. if you aren't in, you'll be left behind." It's almost word-for-word what pyramid scheme people use. Are they right? Are they wrong? How do you know? I'll explain:

There's a very big difference between something being "decentralized" and "offloading compute power to a botnet" If a single domain name going down crashes your entire platform, your platform isn't decentralized. It's just got the shittiest load balancing in on the planet.

the thing with the VR tech hype was that it gave us new ways to experience games, in ways that wouldn't be possible without it but this new blockchain/crypto/NFT tech hype seems to be nothing but a monetization/trading/gambling scheme with no benefit to the player experience

1. The Twitch leak is extremely real. There will be more leaks coming. 2. If you're on Twitch, change your password and make sure MFA is enabled. 3. If you're a streamer on Twitch, cycle your stream key. Brace for impact.
