Members of government commending Viola Ford Fletcher for her resilience, courage and strength while being complacent with her not receiving justice are no different than Trump celebrating job growth while Black American unemployment continues to rise.

Viola Ford Fletcher was prevented from receiving justice while being used as a photo op. Diabolical isn’t a strong enough word. Our lack of outrage will soon come back to haunt us. #JusticeForGreenwood #TulsaRaceMassacre

Viola Ford Fletcher and her peers were denied justice. We need less admiring of our “resilience, courage, and strength” and more delivery of justice. #JusticeForGreenwood #TulsaRaceMassacre

Countries have debts that are paid by citizens. Most Black Americans were not responsible for the internment of Japanese Americans, but rather than complain, our Congresspeople helped them obtain redress. If you don’t believe that citizens are responsible for their country’s…

Coonskin (1975) is a hybrid live-action/animated film directed by Ralph Bakshi that uses bold, exaggerated satire to explore racism, stereotypes surrounding the African American community, and the social dynamics of 1970s America. The story follows Brother Rabbit, Brother Bear,…

Multigenerational oppression & accrued disadvantage, all anchored in slavery & its creation of a racialized caste. Redress is never radical @ninaturner. Exactly right.

Reparations for the descendants of enslaved Black people is not a radical policy. What is radical? Hundreds of years of enslavement, followed by Black Codes, Jim Crow, redlining, and mass incarceration, not to mention failing to address that harm.
