It was ~a year ago I wrote the article: Inside Fast’s Rapid Collapse. newsletter.pragmaticengineer.com/p/the-scoop-fa… In a twist of events, there is article to be written with the title “Rapid’s Fast Collapse”. In a few months, former unicorn RapidAPI will have let go ~85% of staff+founder CEO gone.
Recruiters are convinced. AI era is a game changer, the doubt is now only what the new game will be. ‘Recruiting will always need humans’ is the reasonable yet tentatively held defence.

Micromanaging leads to frustration. Blind trust leads to disappointment. The recommended approach: trust but verify.
I still think about the recruiter who, after starting in my organisation, asked to shadow several software engineer interviews. And then went on to coach candidates about how to better prepare, areas to cover, and offered help. Only accidentally learned about it. What a legend.
