I never promised you anything since I had nothing to do with the Brexit campaign (or Remain for that matter). So check your facts or you’ll just continue to tweet drivel like this. You also don’t understand food security, which has declined in Britain over the years. In and out
In the EU our farmers were properly supported & our food supplies secure. Food security is as vital as armed security. Brexiters like you promised ‘cheaper food at world prices’. It’s proved to be total eyewash.
I think you’re replying to a different tweet since my tweet says none of that. You seem to be addressing Brexiteers. Then address them. No need to include me.
I'm old enough to remember when Brexiteers used to believe in free trade. Now they're apparently Trumpian zero sum protectionists who think a trade deficit in meat products is a sign of civilisational erasure
There’s no way you’d know how I voted. Or even if I voted. You know that. I know that. So let’s part leaving you wallowing in your ignorance.
Nobody other me even knows if I voted in 2016, never mind how I voted. So I’m hardly going to tell you how I’d vote now!
Curious to know would you vote Brexit, with everything you know now ?
It’s not my Brexit. And your graphs are irrelevant to the point at hand — which was the course of GDP per capita between 2021 and 2025 among major market economies. I showed how UK per capita GDP growth was not lowest between 2014-2024. You said don’t start comparison until we’d
2 minutes Andrew, 2 minutes... Two graphs for you, one from 2014, showing with traffic lights, how you've got higher growth year on year in the EU (Green), Covid dead cat bounce (Orange), your #Brexit in red... The other is 2021 to 2024 as requested... Your move...
Love this
In 1943, Black American soldiers arrived in Lancashire.🇬🇧🇺🇸 Back home, they couldn't eat in the same restaurants as white people. Couldn't drink in the same bars. The locals didn't care about any of that. They said come in. Same pubs. Same pints. Same welcome as everyone
The Supreme Court’s ruling, by a clear 6-3 majority, that President Trump’s global tariffs are illegal is historic. It’s also a real headache for the President. Tariffs were his signature economic policy. Now he might not just lose his favourite policy took but have to repay
Then you do it from January 2021 when we left the single market/customs union until the latest stats you can find and then get back to me.
You always include the periods when for most of that time the UK was in the EU single market and customs union...
Not true. Between 2014 and 2024, the latest decadal period given by OECD, Germany and Canada had lower per capita GDP growth than UK. But keep going. I’m sure you’ll eventually come across some obscure metric to bolster your case.
Uk gdp per capita growth is the lowest in theG7. Try that one.
Inflation in UK peaked at 11% in October 2022. So not exactly ‘only months earlier’. Every major economy saw a spike in inflation post-pandemic and Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Inflation had been 11% under the Tories only months earlier!
If Carlsberg did community notes...
Some corrections: You inherited 2% inflation. It doubled in 12 months after you became Chancellor. It is still 50% above the rate you inherited and 50% above target. It should fall to target 2% this summer. So two years to get back to where you started! What’s to boast about
Missed the sleight of hand the Chancellor slipped in on her last line about growth. Labour was elected on a repeated promise to make UK fastest growing economy in the G7 and for a time, based on a narrow window of stats, even claimed we were the fastest growing G7 economy. I see

In what way are UK food standards inferior to EU food standards?
Andrew. When. was the last time you shopped in a supermarket in the UK ? There are increasingly good that are marked "Not EU". This is because they do not conform to EU standards. I don't trust them and will not buy them, because they are substandard.

⬇️ Inflation down ⬇️ Interest rates down ⬇️ Borrowing down ⬆️ Retail sales up ⬆️ UK fastest growing European G7 economy There's more to do, but our economic plan is the right one. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
I really don’t need any lectures on the virtues of free trade from you — especially since this is nothing to do with free trade. We already have a free trade agreement with the EU. This is about subjecting food, farming and agribusiness to Brussels rules and court rulings over
“If we reduce our Corn Law Tariffs, it will harm British Agriculture.”
And that looks suspiciously like a gas fire he’s sitting next to!!! Exterminate! Exterminate! Exterminate!
I guess this must be how the Greens think ordinary folk still live — stuck in the 1950s. Hard to be more out of touch.
40 years in food industry. UK standards have always been consistently higher AND implemented more rigourously than EU.

Yes. But always in the market for more. If you have any further insights I’d be happy to receive and disseminate. Provided, naturally, they stand up to scrutiny. I’m excited with anticipation.
Have you said anything about Farage and dodgy money ?
