Sooner or later, Hollywood will get around to doing a Phantasm remake whether we want them to or not. After rewatching YellowBrickRoad and The Harbinger with @marysangiovanni last night, I’d love to see what @andymitton would do with @DonCoscarelli’s original vision.

There are certain horror movies, whether or not they’re all “good”, that give me that Halloween feeling. That warm blanket candy-at-1am hazy buzz, when the only light on in the house is the tv glow. If I had a festival of these movies now, these would be selections and the order:

It's almost Halloween, so time to big-up Andy Mitton’s The Witch In The Window - one of the most beautifully crafted horror films to hit screens in recent years. A perfectly precise piece of genre cinema, filled with wonderful character moments as well as skin-crawling moments.

The Beast You Are by @paulGtremblay is an astoundingly awesome collection of stories. I read the whole thing twice and it already calls me back. The wild swings of style and format are thrilling. But the quality is constant, along with the wisdom and the horror. Seek it out!!
