We just posted 4.0.3 - a maintenance release of the older Cayenne 4.0. It makes that version of CayenneModeler compatible with Java 17. So if you haven't upgraded to 4.1/4.2 yet, you should still be able to work with your models.

You may have missed it, but ObjectSelect in Cayenne 4.2 supports subqueries with (NOT) EXISTS. Comes handy in many situations

Cayenne 4.2 goes beta. So the API is frozen, and should be safe for upgrade. Also addressed an issue with CayenneModeler startup on desktop with Java 17
If you are using Java to access a DB, and don't use @ApacheCayenne, you are really missing something. Cayenne and Lucene are two of the best Java libraries I know of; learning them is a great way to learn also their respective domain (DB access & text indexing/search).

Just posted Cayenne 4.0.2, the latest maintenance release of the stable 4.0 branch. If you are still on 4.0.x, we recommend to upgrade, as it contains a whole bunch of bug fixes and is a drop-in replacement of the earlier version. github.com/apache/cayenne…
