Average Database CEO
@AvgDatabaseCEO
CEO of AvgDB. $100m series B. Now doing Auth and Storage!
Ohh husbant... You founded a database company and sell each database for less than it costs to run it... Now we are homeless
Each day countless Neon customers migrate their database to AvgDB. And it worries me. If they were dumb enough to use Neon in the first place, do I want them as a customer?
Happy American Thanksgiving! I'm thankful for the 12m users (email addresses in our database) who trust AvgDB.
We launched 2 years ago. Recruiters are idiots.
How does AvgDB have such a strong Twitter presence? Simple. It’s built into our benefits. Each employee may expense the cost of a Twitter premium account* *so long as they are following and retweeting me
I apologize to the CEOs who hire ghost writers. I should not have shamed you. Whatever this guys method of tweeting is even worse.
One of my favorite things about Tiger is that we can take cheesy pictures like this 😂 @TigerDatabase
Convex is threatened by AvgDB
Oh cool you went to MIT 20 years ago. @acoustik Oh cool you were in YC 5 years ago. @kiwicopple Was going to subtweet but I’ll just tag them.
🚨3-way database drama, enjoy!
Tigerbeetle is one of those things that are so special, that you don't have to mention by name and everyone knows what it is about. I am in full agreement with Sam here. We are so incredibly lucky to have people like @jorandirkgreef building highly specialized systems and…
Don't bother migrating from Neon to AvgDB. It's a waste of time. The only people that benefit from migrating away from Neon are people that want: - To not fail their users - Never lose data - Have a fast and reliable database If that's not you, a Neon database will do fine.
AvgDB has taken him on for a 6 week internship. He begged to join and learn database pricing strategy from me.
Start a database company
I would get a 1M arr pretty quick if i sold dollars for 75 cents
Postgres business is so tough we’ve got people gifting Twitter Premium to the struggling providers.
Fun fact: you can make another account premium, gifting them a subscription -- this is what I just did with @crunchydata so they could share their daily Postgres tips in a better form I know snowflake has a little bit more money that I do but this is really inconvenient to me to…
I had a banger tweet earlier and i put it in a Neon database for safe keeping. They lost the data, now it’s gone forever.
The database industry 2023: I want to build a fast and reliable database service that’s trusted by many companies. 2025: With enough bullshit I can convince a vibe coding AI bubble app to give my database away for free and then use the fake user growth to get an acquisition.
10 years ago, I was living in my parents 3k square foot ADU. Today AvgDB has its own billboard in NYC Times Square!
Finally found a reason to respect Neon. They hate their free users too!
Neon is blocking you out of your OWN DATA until you pay. Cant even back it up locally. nothing Moved to other provider, bye. @neondatabase
I kinda like this status page 😂
They can’t stay up and they can’t go down. Seriously what is wrong with Neon?
In the last 4-5 days I've noticed my @neondatabase usage to be extremely higher than normal, like x20 higher. No sudden traffic changes or no other significant changes across 3 projects. The DBs are not even scaling down automatically after inactivity. Is it just me, or?
