Renewables lower bills.

The only state in the US that has seen their electricity prices fall since 2019 is North Dakota. Over the same period: - Wind generation is up 34% - Solar generation is up 425% - Coal generation is down 8%

Within 5 years I think batteries will be more or less matching solar and powering through the entire night for California.

What a difference 2 years make! Compare 2023 vs 2025 — California’s solar output (yellow) has exploded & that purple layer? 🔋 That’s battery storage — charging during the solar peak and discharging after sunset. The classic “duck curve” is flattening fast. #Lithium #LFP #BESS

Interesting, does this mean Nordic countries would have higher overall male fertility levels? Saunas as treatment options to help with male infertility?

I don't agree with all Green Party financial policies, but bringing CGT in line with Income tax makes complete sense. I say that as someone who would be very negatively affected by the change. There are still tax wrappers like stocks and shares ISA's and pensions remember.

Tell me you’ve got no experience with money without telling me you’ve got no experience with money…. There’s a reason why capital gains tax is different from income tax. 1. It involves risk. If you take away the gains in the UK then you make the risk to reward ratio worse…

It was a call I couldn't ignore. I was formally invited by the Danish EU Presidency to Luxembourg to speak about industrial electrification directly to the energy ministers from every single one of the 27 EU member states on the 20th of October. The urgency of the moment is…

This is the fundamentally undeniable fact that climate change skeptics love to ignore.. Insurance companies have huge teams dedicated to calculating the risks, and all of them think climate change is not only real, but a huge problem facing their entire industry.

Fuck him. You know who believes in climate change? Insurance companies. They believe it for the coasts, for river valleys, for flood plains, for forests, for cities and towns all over the world. He'll find that out one day till then? block block block 😉

I'd also bet money on this. Gambling needs to be taxed, why is investing in startups or large companies or even our own government bonds taxed, but gambling isn't? One is productive and good for society, the other is actively harmful. (Generally speaking).

I would be willing to bet that they won't.

Absolute dumbest take of the decade. If the people who think this are so sure, why don't they invest in legacy car companies and short EV ones? You'd have to be insane to do it.

The world is retreating from EVs. Consumers don't want them. Car yards don't want them. Mechanics won't work on them. Panel beaters won't repair them. Manufacturers are backing away from their electrification plans. Even governments are winding down their mandates. Except…

Glad I got out of my wind investments a few years ago when these problems started ramping up. Solar is also in a strange situation - the market is SO competitive that very few solar panel manufacturers are actually making any money, there is a massive supply of cheap panels.

Offshore wind faces turbulence: 24.1 GW cancelled since 2023 (Wood Mackenzie), job cuts at Ørsted and Corio, exits from BlueFloat, and developers pulling out of auctions across Europe and India. The IEA has cut its 2030 forecast from 212 GW to 140 GW ft.com/content/056f2a…

I started building my position in $PRY.MI (Prysmian Group) in mid 2023. This business produces various cable products, fibre optic, sub-sea, high voltage direct current, etc. Their CAGR since I bought them is around 45% and they have grown by around 155% in just 2.5 years.

I followed the company for a few years before investing, as I was invested in $WIRE (Encore Wire), who were acquired by Prysmian last year. What I was super bullish on, was Prysmian's dominance in HVDC cables and submarine interconnectors.. I was right to be bullish..

Just curious.. how long do we need to wait for the #Brexit benefits to kick in? Almost 10 years since the vote and 5 years since we left. Also, 'reclaiming our sovereignty' looks like it didn't work because I heard that's why these flags are everywhere.

Absolutely wild that we’re entering a new era of investing where everything with attention, timing & narrative becomes liquid. The degenerate economy is very real.

This just highlights how much we waste because people value flavour over the planet, it's not a win for AI, it's just a smaller problem than animal agriculture.

There are a lot of good reasons to be worried about AI. But I don't think water use is one of them.

This isn't just about building on flood planes, it's about climate change driven extreme weather events becoming a more significant risk for insurance companies. More and more buildings are becoming uninsurable every year around the world as a result.

Millions more homes in Great Britain at risk of flooding. Some towns may need to be abandoned as homes and businesses struggle to get insurance. Yet houses being built in flood prone areas, planning deregulated Farage/Trump deny climate change. theguardian.com/environment/20…
