I did it. He replied already 😭 Just sharing a smidgen to respect his privacy but it was a lovely, long email, and he is obviously still a wonderful person and putting a lot of effort into his current school. So pleased I made contact ☺️
I stumbled across one of my favourite teachers on the web. My year 5 teacher. The ONLY teacher who I remember doing story writing sessions. Who made us glossy certificates for stand out stories which I coveted. He's now a headteacher. Should I drop him an email?

As a new Headteacher I think I’d benefit from some coaching. Coaching from someone with specific knowledge of leading schools in deprived areas and raising attainment. I’ve got through the first two terms alone but now it’s hit me. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

One week today, and I will be starting my first #headship. Not only a new position but coming back after maternity leave. Lucky to be starting the next part of this journey in the school that I know and love ❤️
If someone has a 35 year teaching career they will have taught over 26,000 lessons. If you are just starting out, listen to experienced teachers. They may be a bit more cynical, and may have slowed down a bit from the manic pace of their 20s, but their experience is invaluable.

In 2010, 4 staff in Calums "special school" restrained him face down. His injuries were horrendous. He wet himself, so they forced him into a chair and stood over him with an egg timer as punishment He doesn't want any child to suffer the way he did. Support #CalumsLaw

A parent spoke to me on the playground and offered to donate advent calendars to families who were struggling this winter. He couldn't bear the thought of their children going without. He rocked up an hour later with 30. Some people have big hearts and good souls
