To me Gyokeres lacks the acceleration to play close to defenders and then spring away to shoot. His mechanics are not fast enough for small space, no-backlift strikes & he lacks touch to take the ball fast on the run too But we are using him to help the team. He is not our no1 9.
With hindsight it is a bad thing to do. But in the game, with the adrenalin pumping? With a break on Martinelli ran to get the ball to continue quickly while Liverpool lacked defensive numbers, and turns to find the player, who just kicked the ball out, on the ground.
A few ex-professionals response to being angry that a professional may have hurt an injured professional is to say that he should have then been injured intentionally by another professional..

“I thought it was an absolute disgrace...I nearly jumped through the TV when I watched that last night.” Tim Sherwood doesn’t hold back on his thoughts on the incident involving Gabriel Martinelli and Conor Bradley.
They played overload, nothing to lose football and got into our heads and on top. But Raya didn't have a shot to save. It was all possibilities only. We had openings, rushed them. Rushed decisions. Missed positions. But ok. It's 6 instead of 8 @Arsenal VCC
Walking over in the driving rain. Massive. COYG!
Possibly because Bournemouth away end so small, but it’s now given birth to the Saliba/Tequila song, Kai Havertz/Waka Waka and Declan Rice/I like it. Will never forget the Saliba song starting there. Genuinely lasted 85 of the 90 minutes.

If we are using VAR it would be good if the decisions good be a bit smarter in context. Like more leeway if a player is out wide before passing or crossing; or with his back to goal taking a touch. And less when running in and there's a defensive skill in playing him offside too
#FULCHE – 45+4’ VAR OVERTURN VAR checked the referee’s call of goal – and established that Jiménez was in an offside position in the build-up and recommended that the goal was disallowed.
Have we thought that as @Arsenal get deeper into the season, fatigue sets in and the pressure ramps then team flow starts to break down. That's when having more individual players can help win you points. So keeping those players fresh can really help. As in Eze & Ethan.
⚠️To fully grasp City’s £460m spend over January 25’ to January 26’ — the wages paid must be taken into account. 🤑 Donnarumma was signed for app. £25m but will earn around 500k a week at City. That is £25m per year or £125m over 5 years. With a £25m transfer fee amortized over…
Manchester City's imminent £65million signing of Antoine Semenyo means that, since their bid for a fifth successive Premier League title fell apart in late 2024, #MCFC will have responded by spending around £460million on player fees in barely more than one year
Or just a damning indictment on the coaching at Chelsea and Liverpool who have brought in a lot of top international quality. After that - when you look at European success the league is obviously strong relatively. With lots of good managers. So points are shared more evenly.
The fact that a team as poor as Man Utd are currently in the Champions League positions is a damning indictment on the quality of the Premier League this season.
No they didn't. You think you remember that because it's normal to just remember highlights. We may have had amazing direct attacks - but it was already a media slur on us that we tried to walk the ball in too much And we had plenty of matches that were a struggle to score in
I love this Arsenal side but we go through periods where we pass it sideways like crabs for minutes on end and it drives me nuts. The Invincibles played 1-touch football at pace, constantly driving forward not sideways. We need to be more like that. We have the players to do it.
It is true: State owned City win the league - Arsenal bottled it. Then a well & expensively built Liverpool win it - Arsenal bottled it. When that Liverpool was second most seasons it wasn't bottling. Nor when that City loses. And the disappearance of Utd & Chelsea... nada.
It’s absurd to generalize about Arsenal’s fanbase like an Xtroll. With over 100M supporters globally, it’s impossible for anyone to claim they know what every fan wants. You can’t condense the opinions of a hundred million people into a single allegation.
Effing eff. I may die before May at this rate. But bloody well done @Arsenal Great start to 2026! VCC
Thought after Villa it was time to get B some rest. He has carried a lot in recent games. And Leo probably needs load management too. UTA!
If that's Tuchel's criteria for players rather than ability and tactical fit then we're in for a disappointing summer. If Harry Kane is out injured for the last 3m will he be out? If TT prefers other LBs, sure. But don't take one because they play regularly at a lower level
🚨 Myles Lewis-Skelly is desperate to make England’s World Cup squad next summer, and Thomas Tuchel has made it clear that the full back needs regular minutes to have a shot. However, the defender is not unhappy at the club and a loan move is ‘very unlikely’. ❌🦁 [@IsaanKhan_]
