Interestingly when TypeScript transpiles this it produces the following JavaScript. I would have expected it to do the if statement like in your example. That `user.name` on its own looks weird.
No, the property can still exist, but if it will have a falsy value (null, 0, 0n, false, "", NaN, undefined) it will get a new value.
#JavaScript tip for today: Knowing falsy values is essential - for conditions, map methods (.filter, .some, .find, ...) and more. There are just 7️⃣ falsy values in JavaScript so if you are not sure, remember these - everything else is TRUTHY!
