The Choctaw Nation of Indians had Treaty Relations with the United States of America between 1786 - 1866, which were re-affirmed by the Indian Appropriations Act of 1871, 25 U.S.C. 71.


The Choctaw Nation of Indians are led by Chief Darby Weaver and its own Tribal Council - the elected leadership pursuant to the Tribal Laws, Customs, and Usages of the Choctaw.
