At last. Split season. Everyone finally arrives at the same destination. Four years on. We fought for fixtures & kept the faith. Looking forward now to a better GAA for all players. Thanks to all who stuck with it & to @sports_db who got the ball rolling! #FixedTheFixtures #GAA
'I don't think it can be sacrificed again. It's the flagship club event.' Chair of the @ClubPlayerAssoc Micheál Briody on why the provincial and All-Ireland club competitions have to be protected in any rearranged fixtures calendar for 2021

Former Cork Chair Tracey Kennedy was lead voice against the transparency motion, Congress 2018. Lack of transparency & accountability in decision making in #GAA leaves a lot to be desired. Maybe if she brings a gender balance motion & sees then who votes for/against...Oh wait!

More women officers needed in GAA to make it a truly community organisation
As 2020 draws to a close we want to wish all our members a peaceful, safe and happy Christmas. We welcome the continuation of the split season in 2021 and we will continue to lobby on your behalf until the split season becomes enshrined in GAA rules hopefully in early 2021
“We are happy to lend our voice in support of the county chairmen, Intercounty players and, most of all the club players, to the majority consensus that “County First” should prevail in 2021.”
The @ClubPlayerAssoc have released an end of year statement looking towards the 2021 GAA Season. kclrfanzone.com/county-first-s…
“There’s no ambiguity for players choosing which team they play for and there’s certainty. Get that through the powers-that-be and that’s all good news.” Very positive news with split season proposals published by Fixtures Task Force earlier this week
A reasoned & sensible call from @ClubPlayerAssoc as number of clubs who are only a few days away from completing their season is minimal... This hasty decision by @officialgaa seems to be about earning brownie points & to hell with the club players that are thrown into the abyss.
“Big questions but exciting ones. From a crisis has come an opportunity to have not just a better programme games for the club player but also for the county one.”
Kieran Shannon: Every game will matter when split season dream becomes reality irishexaminer.com/opinion/column…
Fairly grim reading for @Doiregaa supporters in @IndoSport by @JoeBrolly1993 on the County finances. The scenario painted is a self fulfilling prophecy. Many/most other counties on same road to nowhere? CPA flagged crisis concerns but various pundits derided warnings #Cassandra
In an organisation where players play with club & county & love both, the @gaelicplayers proposal of split seasons makes absolute sense. Let’s just do it as developments in recent yrs. are undesirable & unsustainable. @officialgaa @offtheball @terracetalkrk @radiokerrysport

The @GAAGPA and @ClubPlayerAssoc want change so will Croke park listen to every player in the country or will they ignore them?
Column: Learn from 2020 and keep the club and county seasons separate #GAA @ClubPlayerAssoc @gaelicplayers derrynow.com/news/gaa/56264…
Very strong statement released by the @ClubPlayerAssoc in the last few days. If you haven’t read it and care about Gaelic Games then please do so. Not only read it but do somebting about it. If you are not a member, join. Whether you are or not start asking questions of your club
"The GAA is currently in the middle of a very dangerous atmosphere which needs to be addressed immediately and certainly in advance of 2021." ow.ly/uKn150ALCmL
#WATCH The Club Players’ Association says the “very future of the GAA is at stake” and has called on the #GAA to revisit the issue of fixtures #VMNews | @VMSportIE | @ClubPlayerAssoc | @officialgaa
“We cannot lazily revert to the 2019 calendar for 2021. For 20 years we have had reports spelling out the issue and it’s the role of the DG and President to implement that policy” CPA Chairman @michealbriody talks to @Joanne_Cantwell on RTÉ Sunday Sport soundcloud.com/rtesport/sunda…
Well said Cahair, rewarding counties that shortened their club championships is the crux of the issue as opposed to denying players the opportunity to train with their county
Great to see the GAA threatening to impose sanctions on counties breaching the training ban. Have heard a lot of "let them train when they're out of club championship" last few days - such a move would defeat the purpose and reward counties that shortened their club championships
