Thought the api I built was working great, but when I started to build the frontend, I realized the data was coming back as html. Everything I've reading says that it's an auth/header issue, so we'll see!

Created migrations and seeds for the new React app without incident. Truly a miracle.


I spent the last month applying to jobs nonstop. I started losing motivation, wondering why I was doing this at all. Yesterday I decided to get back to basics and start a new project. And man, I remember why I wanted to do this.


Today’s project: Building a React app for my mom’s hair salon


I had some serious imposter syndrome this morning. A whole loop of "I can't do this" ringing in my ears. Then I went to StackOverflow and was able to answer somebody else's question. Helping someone else AND showing myself that I can do this??? Best 10 minutes of my day.

Man, what a good day. Three interviews, with some great conversations. Regardless of the outcome, I feel like I learned so much in one day.

Becoming a Junior Developer is 45% coding skills and 55% networking.


My favorite part of getting stuck on a problem is bookmarking all of the slightly different problems/ answers I find in case I run into them in the future 😂

Today I came home angry because of work, and my boyfriend said, "Why are you getting upset about your stepping-stone job?" Jaw. On. The. Floor. Because he's right. This is why I spent the last six months learning Javascript.


Looking for a front-end developer role and losing confidence. Any advice?
