Tale as old as time… Judge Nolan. 24 previous convictions. Engaged in a completely unprovoked and violent attack. Will be out in three years probably to cause another nightmare for some poor family no doubt.

Hard to express how infuriating and disappointing this is. The supposed remorse is hard to take seriously when “the 31-year-old smiled and winked at someone when the sentence was imposed”. rte.ie/news/courts/20…

This was a shocking error of judgement laid bare by recent events. I truly hope our new president doesn't make the same missteps. irishtimes.com/politics/2024/…

Very sad to see last night that the Govt plaque that was affixed to the entrance of 569 Lexington Ave in NYC is no longer there! I attended its unveiling in 1989 with my father. Maybe @IrishMissionUN or @IrelandinNY can enquire further? Its NYC Irish american history.

Only in Ireland. A judicial review has been taken against a simple 4km tram extension, whose construction had already been delayed by the Government. All at a time when the city is crippled by gridlock.

A legal challenge has been lodged against the planned Luas extension to the northside suburb of Finglas, just weeks after a separate challenge to Metrolink. jrnl.ie/6908688t

Credit due to @LaceyDermot for having the guts to oppose this wrong-headed proposal from the get go. Proposal to rename Herzog Park to be withdrawn after international criticism jrnl.ie/6889586

Every @FineGael councillor is opposing the proposal to change the name of Herzog park in Rathgar. It should never have got to this stage, and hopefully will not go any further.

@RadioBrendanRTE interesting that @rte report deliberately omitted only Cllr to oppose Herzog Park name change from Report @kevinbakhurst who tells me @rte does not censor. It does.
