ON HUMANISING DATA For #DataViz to transcend Tufteism, slabs of numbers & mind hurting “what am I looking at”, two more requirements must be met: - Users should recognise their own data free of almost all labels. - It answers “why” either in the causal or diagnostic direction.
Spreadsheets are inhumane - vizualisation should be at the speed of thought. Combining 3D rendering w/ data models that use both referential integrity and causal graphs to truly understand which datapoints are important create simple interfaces that are humanizing data. ␄
