I love working with LLMs. Although I can't help but miss the good ole days of training baby deep neural nets from scratch, with careful feature engineering every time. That thrill of seeing a loss function value converge over time was something else. #womeninAI
Revolutionary work! We're watching history being made.
We’re excited to introduce Chai-2, a major breakthrough in molecular design. Chai-2 enables zero-shot antibody discovery in a 24-well plate, exceeding previous SOTA by >100x. Thread👇
I agree with this take. A PhD is an opportunity to build taste, ownership and end to end thinking on a problem. It also gives you the privilege of knowing, and caring, more about a problem than almost anyone in the world.
You don't _need_ a PhD (or any qualification) to do almost anything. A PhD is a rare opportunity to grow as an independent thinker in an academic environment, rather than immediately becoming a gear in a corporate agenda. It's definitely not for everyone!
A slow Saturday, some tea, and deep work on a project I care about. Not glamorous. But honestly? It's what I've dreamt of for so long.
For those building with LLMs: How do you guide them without over-restricting? What’s worked best for setting task-specific boundaries or constraints?
I've spent almost a decade in tech. I remember the first time seeing Claude complete a full stack coding task for me. Laughter bubbled out of me... it was pure delight. This changes everything - we build in dialogue now.
Lucky to have met a few people like this recently.
there are some people who grow in success exponentially when you meet them, you can _feel_ it. develop good people taste, surround yourself with these people
I'm done glorifying the grind. Lately, I've been craving quiet. If you're building gently too, I think we'll get along.
Stress and anxiety thrive when there’s a gap between your ambitions and your actions. Between what you say you want and what your actions show you’re willing to do to achieve it. Identify that gap, then adjust your actions to close it. The answer is found in the action.
Excited to share that I've raised $2m for Origami Computing led by @lachygroom and an amazing set of investors/angels like @MattHartman, @akothari, and more We're making fun, colorful computers that help you stay present and become who you want to be.
The best things I've built didn't come from hustle. They came from stillness.
