CA Teachers Care
@DivestSTRS
A Fossil Free CA Campaign. We are teachers and allies from California who want CalSTRS, our state teachers' pension fund, to stop funding global warming.

I want Texas to lead the way on health care, public education, immigration reform, and ensuring everyone can find a job that pays a living wage.
Last week, we learned that the President of the United States engaged in fraud to avoid millions of dollars in taxes on his family fortune, yet hardly anyone is talking about it. When a democratic society becomes this inured to corruption, democracy itself is it risk.
Anyone else feeling pummeled by the triple whammy of the IPCC climate report, Brazil's election results + the f-u of the Kavanaugh's appointment? It all feels connected somehow: greed cooking our planet, elites pitting us against each other, while wrapping themselves in impunity.
My message to sexual assault survivors: Thank you for your courage. Your voices have mattered.

REMEMBER, REMEMBER THE 6TH OF NOVEMBER
Hey @realDonaldTrump, hope you’re having fun at your rally. Too bad you’re the least popular incumbent president in modern history. And in the meantime, we are coming for your pathetic rubber-stamp Republicans in Congress in 31 days.
It is time to constrain the nativism, racism, xenophobia, and misogyny Trump has fueled. It is time to stop the bigotry he has unleashed. It is time to countervail the power of the moneyed interests he has emboldened. It is time to take back the House and Senate.

This controversial and partisan choice further deepens the divisions in America and profoundly undermines democratic governance. A real tragedy.
We can't stop fighting. Progress doesn't happen overnight. It can be painful. It can be slow. But now is the time to roll up our sleeves, knock on doors, and register people to vote. In one month we have the chance to vote and stand up for the country we love.
You know the country’s not in a good place when people start learning how the government works.
Right, forever vigilant Is always stronger than Wrong, temporarily victorious.
We're deeply disappointed in the outcome of today's Senate vote. Even though we didn't get the result we wanted – the result we needed – it's not the end of our fight. We thank Dr. Blasey Ford and every survivor who heard the sound of their own voice this week.
Don't give up. Don't throw in the towel. We must stay mobilized and engaged heading into November 6th.
We need a massive grassroots effort from coast to coast to revitalize democracy. We need to mobilize people in an unprecedented way at the grassroots level now more than ever.
Today’s vote will define the legacy of every member of the Senate. Those who supported Brett Kavanaugh have disgraced the country, confirming to our highest Court a right-wing partisan who will protect the interests of Donald Trump and the powerful above all else.
We are living in unique times, and we’re facing unprecedented challenges that require new ideas and a new perspective. The DC playbook is obsolete and it’s time that we, the people of California, bring the agenda to Washington — not the other way around. #CAsen
