only if the operator can work 24/7. 60hrs/wk in my area turns over 2k. Overheads 70k/yr. Unsustainable without drivers.
as am I an owner driver. I know for fact i need to do 90hrs/wk to cover costs and earn $500 for myself. Thats unsustainable.
a better idea would be to legoslate that an owner/operator must do a Min of 20hrs/week in each cab they operate.

ontop of that, the costs of running a taxi make it impossible for an owner driver to cover alone and make a living
if that happens there will be a shortage of service that uber will aggressively flood the market with cars to fill.
there will never be fewer taxis on the road unless the govt starts buying back plates mate. That simple.
clearly you dont operate. If I had to pay drivers an hourly minimum. They wouldnt cover their own wages. That simple.why employ?
