The Obamacare secret at the heart of the shutdown: insurers made billions at taxpayer expense justthenews.com/government/con…
"The biggest trick ever played was convincing peple they need insurance to access healthcare." —Dr. Joseph Rotella
Let’s start with Ohio’s real problems, because the state’s healthcare mess didn’t fall out of the sky, it was built, brick by bureaucratic brick. Ohio’s premiums aren’t high because Congress might end a temporary COVID subsidy. They’re high because Ohio, like Michigan, has…
A spending bill that takes health care away from millions and raises costs for 500,000 Ohioans is wrong, plain and simple. So I am voting NO on this terrible Republican bill.
"You cannot dialogue with the devil. The Communist Party wants total control; they want the Church to be a tool of the state." - Cardinal Joseph Zen
The Affordable Care Act banned the creation of new physician-owned hospitals. 15 years ago, @BarackObama, Harry Reid, @SpeakerPelosi, Andy Slavitt, and Peter Orszag sold America on a fantasy: that MBAs and private equity suits would be better stewards of healthcare dollars than…
Every neurosurgeon in America must know what Section 6001 is. Almost none do. Hidden deep within the Affordable Care Act, this one section quietly banned physicians from owning new health systems, cutting off one of the last pathways for independent medicine to compete with…
“The Government” is not subsidizing Obamacare. You are. Your work. Your money. Your health. Your life.
Another Christmas market cancelled in Germany, this time in Magdeburg. Authorities say they can’t guarantee safety. Islamic terror attacks have done what no war could: killed a German tradition. Earlier, markets in Overath and Kerpen were also called off due to new “security…

Here are some facts about money in healthcare that most people in congress, and many doctors, don't realize- 1. Doctors don't get a tax write-off for charity care or unpaid bills 2. Medicare hasn't increased payment rates to doctors since 1992 3. Seeing a hospital-employed…
Not even a raise for inflation. 1 RVU 1992 = $31.00; 1 RVU 1992 adjusted for inflation to 2025 = $71.00. 1 RVU in 2025 is worth $33.00 That's a 50% pay cut.
American surgeons pay 10 times more per year for malpractice insurance than in Europe. About $40,000 vs $4,000. Overall malpractice issues increase health care costs probably 5-10%, which is hundreds of billions of dollars.
9. This one is crazy- if you see a hospital-employed orthopedist and get 2 knee injections, you pay $150 facility fee for EACH injection. If you walk down the hall to the private orthopedist renting office space, there is no facility fee and it costs $250 less!
Precisely.
6/6🧵 When you enter the exam room and see👀 a patient's pain due to our dysfunctional system, and you keep giving past when it hurts as some do; when you 👀 docs who peddle the corporate swill, and try to knock you outta the game because you speak truth to power.... keep going.
5/6 🧵Here is a Dr Seuss-style poem I wrote in a whimsical moment. "You and loved ones will suffer and some will die. While CVS, Centene, Blue Cross and Practice Fusion gobble more of the juicy healthcare pie. What happens when the last doc, the last good nurse Falls? Are…
4/6 🧵full text of article The New York Times reports that there is unity of thought in certain circles about how the reach of the Affordable Care Act (ACA, aka “Obamacare”) should be expanded. That’s unsurprising. Parasitic, special interests will tend to think alike when it…
3/6🧵Here is a piece I wrote a few years back that points out how the very people who lobby the most are the ones who profitted the most from Obamacare. Funny how that worked. goerie.com/story/opinion/…
Here is the historical list of top lobbyists. Chamber (insurance related) Hospitals, Pharma, AMA (insurance related) BCBC and AARP ( insurance related) have been there for years 2/6 🧵
