#eureeka The mysql connection string used by migrations has to point to local host and the port has to be exposed. With this working, I need to figure out how to provide a different connection string for design vs dev runtime. @julielerman #efhelp
While the EF Core migration went smoother than we had thought there are certain things that make EF Core do N+1 queries. For example the item without operation name here is when we list our invoices and was subquerying for a deliverys status with FirstOrDefault(). #efhelp
#dotnetcore @VisualStudio #EFHelp @efmagicunicorns is it possible to run migrations in a mysql docker container when deving with #docker ? Would I need a docker-compose to spin up the mysql container? Any articles on this?
37k characters about upgrading from EF6 to EF Core. mikee.se/posts/migratin… Small thing worth knowing is that we are not in production on this yet. We still have extensive testing left so more things might come up. #entityframeworkcore #efhelp
My ultimate goal is to be able to apply migrations as part of our Azure Devops build/release pipelines. So if you know a n alternate way to do that with EF Core on .net 4.7.2 then that would be as helpful. My search skills is really failing me on this one. #efhelp
Have anyone figured out if it's possible to generate migration scripts for EF Core when running on .net 4.7.2 from outside of Visual Studio? I couldn't get the "dotnet ef" commands to work well and haven't found a way to run the PMC commands from outside VS. #efhelp
Need some #efhelp EF6 have added these constraints to a few of our columns. Is there anyway to get EF Core to this? I could really skip them but I'm a bit worried about that constraint not being dropped when we want to alter the table later.
Do you know of a good way to DETECT sql injection? We already prevent it, I just want to be able get a feeling for how often people try it against us. Basically I want to find all the little Bobby Tables in our DB. Best info I found so far is symantec.com/connect/articl… #efhelp
Whaaat? When I rename the column to Donky instead of Approved the discriminator goes away... HOW DOES THAT EVEN HAPPEN? #efhelp
I'm seeing some super weird behavior in EF Core with an owned entity getting a disciminator column IF it's named Approved. Anyone has a clue? stackoverflow.com/questions/5481… #efhelp
Anyone got a good suggestion for how to use IdentityDbContext for asp.net core on full framework? I have the same issue as the poster as we want to upgrade to EF core and .net in two different steps. stackoverflow.com/questions/5109… #efhelp
“ASP .Net Core EF M-M Instance Cannot be Tracked” #entityframework #aspnetcore #efhelp
Is it true the EF6 will run on .Net Core 3.0? If so, will that be cross platform? #efhelp
