Common Kestrel overlooking the car park at Greylake this morning
When around Blaise Woods I always visit a huge fallen Beech which is smothered in Hairy Curtain Crust and several kinds of jelly fungi. Last time I was there I spotted these bracket fungi growing on skyward-pointing branch above head height. Can anyone ID them? #fungi
A couple of Eygptian Geese made a couple of low circuits of #ChardRes @somersetbirds this morning before disappearing to the West.

Sadly too late to submit for the Countryfile calendar... An action shot of one of the Shags from Clevedon Marine Lake this morning. Amusingly, last night over dinner, I had a chat with a couple of ex-work colleagues about swimming in the Marine Lake.😀

This Red Kite spent several minutes dropping down below roof height checking out gardens at home, including ours. Presumably hunting for any scraps it might find.

As a precursor to our peat restoration works kicking off in the new year, we’ve had archaeologists out on site at Shapwick Heath to check for any ancient trackways.
