The Forced Marriage Unit (FMU) is a joint @FCDOGovUK and @ukhomeoffice unit which leads on the UK Government’s forced marriage policy, outreach and casework.

In September, the FMU delivered outreach to 290 professionals including Immigration Appeals Team, Brighton & Hove City Council and legal services and Savera Group. We also held a workshop for Social Care Staff.

In 2023, we trained more than 3,600 frontline professionals to support victims of forced marriage, including: 👮 Police officers 👐 Social workers 🩺 Healthcare professionals We will do everything in our power to protect victims.

In April, the FMU delivered outreach to 302 professionals including Manchester South Childrens Services, Wrightington, Wigan & Leigh NHS Foundation and Invicta Law. We also held a workshop for Registration staff and the police.
