My form of networking at the NWSA conference is becoming friends with a neighborhood cat who snuck into my Airbnb and was really sweet to me. I did return him to his owner but it was kinda hard to want to network with people after.
Game night playing card games with friends. Edbirb decided it was his turn.
Hung out at the ASL Starbucks in DC while waiting for my delayed flight after a wedding. I forgot how to sign you're welcome when I tipped so I instinctively thanked them back when they thanked me. I guess awkwardness translates to every language 😂
This week, my research participants were on time with no tech difficulties and all very excited about the study. It's so nice when things go smoothly. I feel very lucky as I was not as fortunate in my first few rounds of recruiting.

Spirit Airlines is such a gamble but I've been on over 12 of their flights in 2 years. More than half have been delayed and two have been cancelled. Getting home 2 full days late this time 😭
Interviewing queer participants is way too much fun that sometimes I forget I'm doing work. Also introducing my bird over zoom to other trans people who like birds is a fun highlight.
