Today is the feast of St Joseph Vaz, of the Goa Oratory, Apostle of Ceylon. St Philip felt called to go to the Far East to preach the Gospel, but a holy monk told him, “Rome shall be your Indies.” Joseph Vaz fulfilled Philip’s longing to bring Christ to the people of Asia.
