The idea that all cis women and AFABs are demisexual comes from the expectation that we are “pure” beings who never seek sex for pleasure and that sex will be a chore that we just put up with, therefore lumping anything ace in with purity culture’s idea of femininity

Re sharing this for #PrideMonth. Dating aces doesn’t require ‘solutions’. Dating an ace isn’t a problem that needs solved. We are not puzzled waiting to be assembled. All relationships— romantic or otherwise — need communication and respect of one another’s boundaries.
I kind of don’t like when polyamory is presented as a “solution” to dating an ace spectrum person for allosexuals. There are polyamorous ace people of course, but when it’s presented as “here’s how to make a relationship with an ace work if you’re allo” without regard to 🧵

A great thing about being aromantic is that it provides a limitless understanding of the language we can use to express love. Our orientations break down attraction in a unique way that's important for the inclusion of nuanced intimacy and its so nice to feel free in my identity
