Found my old Vulkan T-shirt from the launch year. 10 years has soon passed, and people still refer Vulkan and DX12 as "modern APIs". Vulkan was initially designed for "modern" GPUs like GTX 680 (Kepler), Radeon 7870 (GCN1) and Intel i7 5775C (Broadwell/Gen8).
