First peer-reviewed article about our #game #design choices and framings of the @GameOffsetting is out! journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/10… We think it was important to analyze what kind of framings of biodiversity offsetting we used in game design. 1/4
Our main conclusion is that designing a #simulation #game entails choices that are political, and their effects should always be carefully considered. Especially #environmental games should pay attention to what kind framing of the society and the problems they are offering. 4/4
We also present a simplified table of the main elements of #biodiversity #offsetting, and of how these are simulated in the @GameOffsetting . 3/4
We have analyzed how our understanding of #biodiversity #offsetting informed our #game #design, but also how certain game design choices framed issues, for ex. the freedom of stakeholder actions in the game. The tables present research framings and examples of design choices. 2/4
