Students from Parrenthorn, St. Gabriels and The Derby, have taken part in this year’s Theology, Philosophy and Ethics Workshops. Students explored what motivates them when making ethical decisions; as well as considering philosophical questions, such as “Who Am I?”
Andy Murray has done so much to redefine public masculinity in a positive way. Tears, pain and frailty are all acceptable.

We were delighted that students from Xaverian College, Dr Yazid Said and Dr Robert Booth from the Liverpool Hope University joined us on our Theology Study Day. Students were invited to explore Christian understanding of events within Jewish scriptures and the New Testament.
Congratulations to all students who took part in this year’s Royal Institute of Philosophy course. Students tackled philosophical topics concerning the nature of knowledge, ethics, the mind, free will and aesthetics, with the aim to develop their capacity to think critically!

A huge thank you to the University of Manchester’s Religions and Theology department for hosting a collaboration event with BBC Radio 4’s Beyond Belief team in creating resources to support A-level students in their studies and share up-to-date research within the discipline.

Ex-students Matthew and Hannah met in Brussels to discuss their work in climate emergency. Matthew the founder of The Climate Change Academy and Hannah an environmentalist, and ex-member of NGOs. Both studied A Level Theology and continue to support our enrichment provision.

Many thanks to the lovely Year 10 students at St Gabriel’s for taking part in this week’s Theology, Philosophy and Ethics workshop. Students looked at the philosophical dilemma of the mind, body and soul and tackled ethical dilemmas such as ‘Is it ever okay to lie’.
