Parish President Gordon Dove EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY has issued a MANDATORY EVACUATION NOTICE for all areas long LA Hwy 315 and Brady Road below or south of Falgout Canal.
Residents that took shelter at the Raceland Recreation Center have chosen to return home. Due to lack of demand, Lafourche Parish officials have announced the Shelter is now closed. If you need assistance, please contact the Office of Emergency Preparedness at 985-537-7603.

As of 12:30 p.m. today, more than 12,000 #Lafourche Parish residents were without power due to #HurricaneBarry. @EntergyLA & #SLECA will restore power to customers as soon as possible, but it's not a fast process. Check out this timelapse of workers setting a new pole. #lawx
Did you know even in ideal conditions, it takes about three hours to set a new power pole? It could take longer after a storm, due to fallen trees, debris and other factors.
Parish President Jimmy Cantrelle has issued a new curfew: July 13th, 2019, 10:00 P.M. to 6:00 A.M. He urges residents to stay off of the roads, if at all possible. We anticipate strong wind gusts to continue and heavy rains to begin this afternoon through the evening hours.
LA 24 West (West Park Avenue) is closed at LA 182 (Barrow Street) due to emergency utility work. Use alternate route. Congestion is minimal.

Due to changing weather conditions, the Galliano and Cote Blanche Pontoon Bridges will be CLOSED to vehicular traffic starting at 8:30 P.M. until further notice. All other bridges remain OPEN to vehicular traffic.

As Tropical Storm Barry approaches, residents who choose to seek shelter can bring their pets to the shelter. Pets will need a crate or carrier; as well as, food and water for three days.
