Congress is voting on a bill that cuts cancer research funding at the DoD by more than 50%! This would be devastating to the Pancreatic Cancer Research Program. Join me in telling Congress to vote NO on cuts! p2a.co/nPxyvAu
World Pancreatic Cancer Day 💜Honoring the lives of people affected by this terrible disease while hoping to bring a change
In honor of World Pancreatic Cancer Day, we want to give a shout-out to the Halbrook Lab! This lab is focusing on how the tumor microenvironment impacts cancer progression and therapy response. Their work is vital in uncovering new approaches and treatment outcomes.💜
It’s officially the festive season. Our grad student @rimasingh1008 hosted a fun Diwali party with some great Indian food 😋 Happy Diwali ✨
I got an exciting phone call from @ACS_Research letting us know my liver metastasis RSG will be funded for the next four years! This project was built from scratch in my lab by @rimasingh1008, and early support by @UCIAntiCancer and @TowerCancer was key to getting here. Prost!
So many amazing talks and posters at #AACRPan24 this year. This is where the best science happens. We can’t wait for next year!
Indiana-UCI super collaborators in action!
Who knew that @cjder23 was a Swiftie?! #AACRPan24 KRAS session. Congratulations to Channing who is back in the city where he conducted his seminal studies on mutant RAS in human cancers forty years ago.
Super excited to introduce our new post doc- Dr. Austin Silva. Austin did his PhD at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he worked on glycosylation in pancreatic cancer. Outside of science, he likes to play basketball. Welcome to the team @AustinSilva108
When your colleague @CJHPhD pops up on the @UCIBioSci TV hehe. Congrats on the funding!
Congratulations to Assistant Professor Christopher Halbrook, who has achieved a significant milestone in his research career by receiving the Method to Extend Research in Time (MERIT) Award from the National Cancer Institute (NCI).👏 @CJHPhD bit.ly/45HA8zg
Celebrating graduation with our first batch of undergraduate researchers Natalie, Ethan, and Tiffany! Grateful for all their contributions to our work, and excited to see where their bright futures take them.
So proud of our undergrad Natalie Yousefian! She’s an Excellence in Research program finalist. Natalie was the Halbrook lab’s 1st undergrad, working with @rimasingh1008 to look at the immune landscape of primary vs metastatic PDAC. We’ve been so lucky to have her these past 2 yrs
What’s better than a birthday NOA? How about a conversion from a 5-year R01 to a 7-year R37?
It was a privilege to be around so many patients and families impacted by pancreatic cancer last weekend at #PurpleStride 2024! 💜
Come check out the Halbrook Lab’s posters today at the #AACR24 9am poster session. Section 11, posters 17 & 24. @rimasingh1008 @ceshhbeshh
