❌ Bad: Vehicle interior visible in the image In this image, the vehicle's dashboard is visible in the bottom corners and in the windshield's reflection. If the footage contains any aspect of the vehicle's interior, it isn't usable for a high-quality map

Camera Orientation: Front-facing, interior ✅ Good: Unobstructed view of the road and buildings The windshield's glass is clean, there is no reflection of the dashboard in the windshield, the camera is centered on the street, and there are no obstructions

❌ Bad: The car hood visible in the image The camera is facing down and capturing the car's hood in the image. This is a fairly common problem and is easily addressed by tilting the camera upwards to face more of the environment.

What causes low-quality data? Dashcam isn't properly installed or mounted - Mounted where the dashboard or sides of the windshield are visible. Correct mounting, but poor imagery - Images are collected at night, in excessive rain, or vehicles are blocking the view of the road.

Clarity of View A clear view = more HONEY The quality of the data you contribute factors into the amount of HONEY tokens earned. Clarity of view plays a large role in producing high-quality map data.

What are Individual Reward Factors? HONEY is designed to incentivize the creation of a global map by focusing contributors on coverage, freshness, and quality. These factors make the map more useful for customers, which in return generates more rewards for contributors.

What makes High-quality imagery? ☑️Proper mount position ☑️Free of glare and obstructions - the car hood, dashboard, antennas, etc., should not be visible ☑️Correct lighting - during daylight hrs with minimal shadowing ☑️Clear view of street ☑️Authentic location @Hivemapper

Usable Imagery HONEY is only earned for usable imagery @Hivemapper

What is Freshness Multiplier? This is a mechanism that controls the rate of saturation, defining how quickly rewards replenish for a map tile over time and encouraging contributors to regularly update map imagery. The Freshness Multiplier is dynamically set between 0 and 1.

Route Novelty Rewarding route novelty is one way to incentivize within the @Hivemapper Network. Extra rewards are provided to contributors for map imagery collected on more novel routes.

Importance of Reputation Score? There are consequences to a high or low score. In cases of clear fraud attempts, there will be severe and immediate consequences to a contributor’s reputation and quality score, ultimately impacting the amount of HONEY the contributor can earn.

How does @Hivemapper Reputation Score works? Each contributor has a contributor score that will start out neutral, and improve or fall. Reputation scores are fragile; it's hard to build a good one and easy to negatively impact it with poor-quality contributions.

How does @Hivemapper ensure high-quality images? Both human and machine mechanisms are in place to assure quality imagery is contributed to the Hivemapper Network. Contributors earn rewards when they help with quality assurance.

Quality🌟 Mapping data from contributors must be high quality in order to be useful to customers. Broadly speaking, usable imagery is collected with a proper mount position, has a clear view, is free of glare and obstructions, and has correct lighting. @Hivemapper

3. There is less utility in re-mapping oversaturated areas than there is in mapping unsaturated ones; therefore, contributions to less saturated areas are more heavily rewarded using a Freshness Multiplier. @Hivemapper

2. The network will incentivize updating map data on a preferred cadence because a frequently covered map tile can become "saturated" with imagery. @Hivemapper

Map freshness💫 Contributors are rewarded for helping the map stay fresh. A fresh map is valuable to the @Hivemapper Network because customers want maps that reflect the current reality of the world.

3. ☑️Bounty Reward - Customers can pay to create bonuses for completion of certain areas. All contributors helping to map those areas will receive extra rewards.

2. There are ways @Hivemapper Network incentivizes increased coverage: ☑️Route Novelty - Encourages drivers to modify their routes to areas that haven't been mapped recently ☑️Mount Position - Saturation is considered separately across different supported mount positions
