IT Network journey. Data Center ➡️ Networking ➡️ and beyond.
The past 10 months I’ve been studying for my CCNA. No previous certs or deep Network knowledge. I’ve been balancing learning my role within the NOC and studying which is why it’s taken this long. Everyone’s journey is different, and I truly want to have a solid foundation.
Starting to post here to document my IT Networking journey. Im here to learn from the best, make connections and share my story.
Keep asking the questions you think might sound dumb to the people you want to gain knowledge from. They’re usually willing to help you understand and drop more information than you expected or even understand in the moment. Stay consistent my friends. Road to the CCNA.
Yesterday I was with Systems Engineers, today I was with a Network Engineer. Learning where I can and trying to be helpful along the way. NOC Life.
Another Day in the NOC. Stalking our Systems team gaining 2nd hand knowledge.
Quietly doing labs, studying and laying the Networking/IT foundation.
Projects I will be starting on in the New Year. -Home Lab -Hosted Security Cameras Those are two that I’ll immediately start purchasing for and building in 2026. CCNA Study grind till then.
CCNA IPv6 study day. I can see clearly now. Im no longer intimidated by binary —> decimal —> hexadecimal conversions. I can taste this certification.
Subnetting and IPv6 slightly confused and intimidated me when I first started studying. Coming back to it, it makes more sense and is easier than before.
Learning and studying on the job is not something everyone takes advantage of. I also take advantage of picking the brains of the people on the dev and networking teams in encounter regularly.
Focusing on study for the CCNA. Currently using simulated labs. 2026 is for projects. -Build home lab -Security Cameras hosted on my server. Will probably document with video. Open to advice and recommendations for both. CCNA journey
