Third grade students enjoyed their first kindness lesson today! They listened to the story Peanut Butter and Cupcake, reflected on kindness words, and created new pages in their Kindness Journals to document their kindness journey this year. @HanoverSchools #HEFkind

Kindergarten students practice making parts of a whole using @Seesaw. They created their own shape combinations then recorded their voice explaining how their shapes made a whole number together. @HanoverSchools #mathchat
Third grade students enjoyed learning about Australia as author, Patrick Adams, read his book, Lisa Goes to Australia, to the class. He also shared a sneak peek at the world premiere of his song, Koalas and Kangaroos! Fun fact: Mr. Adams attended @hanoverschools years ago!
Grade 3 students made a Kindness Connection with a Grade 1 class in Winnipeg, Canada! They used Zoom to engage their critical thinking skills playing the math game SPLAT and discovered it is much colder there: -26 degrees C! Their students even counted to 10 for us in French!
Today Gr2 students in our online school shared their Matter projects with classmates and practiced digital citizenship by leaving kind, relevant comments in Google Slides. These projects integrated science, reading, and writing with digital mastery skills, too! @HanoverSchools
Today our kindergarteners practiced using Zoom in the classroom. They were so excited to raise their hands digitally and “pin” their teacher’s screen to see her book! @HanoverSchools
Grade 3 students explored diversity with the book Same, Same, but Different, then played Mystery Zoom with another classroom in the U.S. by asking and answering clues. We completed our lesson with a kindness challenge for the week ahead! @HanoverSchools #passionforkindness
Grade 3 students learned how to take photos and videos to add to Schoology discussion board posts on their new Chromebooks today. We are so excited to have devices for every student in our district! @HanoverSchools
Grade 3 students listened to Hair Love and Just So Thankful to reflect on the power of gratitude during our kindness lesson today. Students then created their own Google Slides presentation in Schoology to share their thankfulness for people, places, and things. @HanoverSchools
Gr. 1 students created digital talking turkeys to share their gratitude. They wrote thankful words on feathers, then photographed their turkeys with the Chatterkid app. They added voice, text, and filters, then uploaded videos to Seesaw to share with families. @HanoverSchools

Exploring Bioluminescence! Today Grade 1 students used Play-Doh and clay to create unique animals with adaptations that light up to communicate, to catch prey, or as a defense. It was a great way for students to troubleshoot and show creativity, too! @HanoverSchools #hcpspln

Grade 2 students enjoyed using Garage Band on iPads to explore beats and rhythm using digital instruments. They collaborated with classmates to create an “ask and respond” song while discovering the differences in percussion instruments. @HanoverSchools #hcpspln
This week Gr. 4 students learned how one act of kindness could impact the world while reading Ordinary Mary’s Extraordinary Deed. Then they were told they would be given $10 to fund their own kindness project to change the world with kindness, too! @HanoverSchools #hcpspln
Coding is my jam! Today Grade 3 students learned about algorithms, loops, and if-then statements as they coded robots, used pair programming to create music through block coding and designed binary bracelets to show their initials in binary code. Fun times today! @HanoverSchools
