Stop trying to respond to everyone, answer every question, explain every misunderstanding, meet their expectations, and live up to the version of you in their heads. Otherwise, you'll burn out fast. What they think of you is none of your business. Start protecting your peace.
We sit in the car before going in the house because our nervous system needs to decompress. Coming and going can be dysregulating. It’s ok to ask someone for space when you get home. It’s ok to need a few minutes to yourself before you leave.
As you become more authentic some people will feel uncomfortable and that’s ok because your role in life isn’t to be liked, it’s to like yourself.
As you get more emotionally healthy, your relationships will shift. People might feel disappointed because you are no longer playing the roles you once played. This isn’t a sign you’re doing something wrong— it’s a sign you’re doing something right.
