Had some time this week to polish my memo up. I'm not a lawyer, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express, but the more I read and think about this, the more convinced I am that this opinion is a grotesque and shameful display of professional misconduct. drive.google.com/drive/folders/…
Dear God, the lying.
Last week: In response to WaPo’s story on the Sept. 2 boat strikes, the Pentagon says “This entire narrative is completely false.” Today: The White House confirms that a 2nd strike happened and that “Secretary Hegseth authorized Admiral Bradley to conduct these kinetic strikes”
Excellent news about reading in Alabama.
wrote today about how even if you've heard of Mississippi's surge in reading scores, you're probably underestimating it:
"State Sen. Robert Stewart, D-Selma, is hosting a meeting about the proposed pipeline expansion project that has been announced by Southern Natural Gas Company.... The meeting will be Tuesday, Sept. 30, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at ArtsRevive." -@SelmaTimes selmatimesjournal.com/2025/09/22/ste…
Turns out smart people have already had that hunch. lawreview.law.ucdavis.edu/sites/g/files/…
I have a hunch that the move toward unitary executive theory has nothing to do with the Constitution or American political theory, and rather the cultural ubiquity (and false analogy) between the presidency and managerial hierarchies (as laid out by Chandler and Daems.)

States across the South compete for mega‑projects with billions in incentives. But recent events in GA — including the detention of foreign employees at a flagship EV plant — raise a harder question: Are we doing enough due diligence on labor practices before the ribbon‑cutting?

There are no standards. This is beyond brazen. At this point it's pretty clear that Trump and his followers actually enjoy breaking through legal, moral, and ethical barriers. They love watching people get angry about it. It's a game to them.
ABC EXCLUSIVE: President Trump is poised to accept a luxury jet as a gift from Qatar. It’s to be used as Air Force One and then transferred to the Trump library by January 2029. Perhaps the biggest foreign gift ever. DOJ insists it’s legal, not bribery, not violation of…
It's hilarious to read these comments after MAGA spent much of the Biden years running to the same district court judge in Texas, hoping to get exactly the same kind of nationwide injunctions that they now condemn. Judicial review for me, but not for thee.
There are nearly 700 unelected district court judges. If the most extremist of these judges on any given day decides he is in charge of the executive branch then Article II, democracy and government itself cannot function.
Twinkle Cavanaugh received more write-in votes against her than any other candidate on Alabama's ballot. From @insideclimate: “I voted for Mickey Mouse,” one voter told me. “At least he only cost me if I go to his place. Twinkle cost me every day in mine.” insideclimatenews.org/news/27112024/…

What would be nice to know is how much revenue would be lost by this action.

Must-read from @DavidAFrench. Brilliant and terrifying. If you want America as we have loved it to survive, be prepared for a long fight and some very dark days. The Trump Crisis Deepens nytimes.com/2025/02/06/opi…
