I think most people betray the ones that are chronically ill through their own economic coercion and the and emotional labor that is required to assist someone as an individual when care of this level requires a dedicated team.
I say all this to not blame family and friends as the source of suffering, although their behavior contributes, the source of contradiction lies in the fact we the people do not control healthcare.
The biggest disconnect right now is between those with an active memory and those without. Thatโs why we see nothing wrong with doing the same thing over and over to no effect and think that the repeated failures arenโt themselves shaping peopleโs consciousness.
