I own a small bakery. We aren’t famous, but we pay the bills. Last Tuesday, a woman came in. She was gripping her purse so tight her knuckles were white. She looked at the display case for a long time—too long. She pointed to the smallest plain vanilla cupcake we had. 'Just that…

Ontario Liberals are calling on the @fordnation gov to invest $1 B to hire 10,000 support staff for our children’s schools. Our kids deserve the best start, and right now classes are too big, special education has been starved, and we have a mental health crisis in our schools.

1 in 4 Canadians have a disability. Many live in poverty due to high costs and lack of support. On #IDPD, we're urging the government to #ActOnCare by reducing administrative barriers and strengthening financial supports like the Canada Disability Benefit.

A good player-coach relationship is built on trust. As a coach, you earn your players’ trust by helping them improve and showing that you truly care about them. And as a player, you earn your coach’s trust by giving your best effort and being coachable.

As a coach, the relationships you make with your players matter more than wins and losses. Be very committed to winning, but always put your players first!

The best coaches are great motivators. They not only inspire their players to give their best effort, but they also teach them to love the process.

Emotional intelligence is one of the most important traits needed for coaching. When you understand what goes on in the minds of your players, you can do a better job coaching them to work hard, learn, perform well, and be happy.

Purchasing cards? Are you serious? Ontario classrooms are increasingly portables. Educators don’t have the support staff they need to keep classes safe. The repair backlog is growing. They want to talk about purchasing cards? Talk about class sizes. About more EAs per student.

Ontario teachers are paying out of pocket for basic classroom supplies, and while Premier Ford is promising them new “purchasing cards,” the head of the secondary teacher’s union @osstf tells us teachers don’t need special credit cards, they need properly-funded schools.

Too many kids quit sports because they don't feel comfortable as athletes. Some don't think they belong, and some don't believe they can succeed. Overall, they feel more anxiety than joy when on the field. As a coach, it's your responsibility to help create a positive environment…
