During the 2014 war, which began after Hamas kidnapped and killed three Israelis, Netanyahu ignored calls from right-wing MPs to launch a ground invasion of Gaza. Harder to resist such demands this time: the trigger is much, much bigger, and his coalition is entirely right-wing

Sumption’s position is not simply wrong, it was entirely politically motivated and @JMPSimor simply corrected the legal record and warned against constant inflammatory rhetoric and the need to preserve legal protection. A “bucket of ordure” is entirely unwarranted.
