Y'ALL, I GOT A JOB IN SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT!!! 🥳 It's been over a year since I started learning to code and started on my career change journey 🤓 and now I will start in a few weeks as a ERP System JavaScript developer! 🦄 #CodeNewbie #learntocode
Happy new years, folks! Hoping to continue learning and becoming a better coder in 2022 🤓 #100DaysOfCode #LearnToCode #GirlsWhoCode
Day 8 of #100DaysOfCode Took a week off for the holidays and now I have covid :( But still trudging through the Python course! Today I made a Cipher function and am getting more used to functions in Python!
Day 6 of #100DaysOfCode Learned some basics in python to be able to get this little robot guy through the maze. Again, so far I really enjoy Python. I am excited to see further how it differs from JavaScript.
Day 4 of #100DaysOfCode Learned about python lists and #Python's random module today! Created a rock paper scissors game. I've done this before in JS but just enjoying the refresher. Wondering if there was an alternate way to code the logic for the win/lose conditions🤔
Day 3 of #100DaysOfCode - Continuing the #python course, as it is quite enjoyable. I created a simple version of a text-based RPG. Totally up my alley! My brain quite likes the indentation and the basic functions so far in Python vs. JS. It just makes sense.
Day 2 of #100DaysOfCode, continuing with the #Python course. Learned some basic math functions. I made a "Tip Calculator". I am seeing small differences from #JavaScript, but I think it is giving me a better understanding of the fundamentals. #learntocode
Day 1 of #100DaysOfCode I started Day 1 of a #Python course and made a Band Name Generator. I was able to pretty easily understand basic concepts with being proficient with JavaScript. Not sure if I'll continue with the course or just jump in and start a project. Any suggestions?
TIL: Admiral Grace Hopper coined the term "debugging" in the 1940s while she was working on a Mark II computer at Harvard University. They actually found a moth in the computer.🦋I am skeptical this is the true start of "debugging" BUT I like a good story👍 #coding #learntocode
Last year I got to day 27 of #100daysofCode bc I STARTED MY FIRST DEV JOB and needed to focus on that. WELL, I am starting again. But still deciding what skills to hone in on. Job is all JS/TS, thinking about taking on some python or learning how to use the next.js framework🤔

Day 27 of #100DaysOfCode Had another code meet with the girls. I added seeds into the adoption database, so we have actual data to work with. My next step will be adding a filter. I also learned about a tool called Visual Studio Live Share where we can code/debug live together.
Day 26 of #100DaysOfCode Added an animal page for the React adoption site I've been working on. Basically, the URL takes in the specific animal (id as a parameter) from the database and fills in all the pet information. 🐭🐱🐶🐹🐰
Day 25 of #100DaysOfCode I haven't been posting every day but finding the balance in my priorities (like learning my new job). I am continuing 100DaysOfCode (just spent 3 hours coding tonight!) but it's gonna work better for me being a little sporadic but more hours at once🤷♀️
Day 25 of #100DaysOfCode Worked on the adoption page for the fostering website (built with React). I templated it based on the wireframe my group and I worked on during our meeting on Monday. Used React-Bootstrap and CSS. I lean towards back-end, but front-end is kind of fun😄
1 week into my first #softwaredevelopment job and I'm feeling a tiny bit of #impostersyndrome 💀 I've heard folks talk about it but it caught me off guard. Just got to keep my head up and keep learning and coding. On the plus side, I am having a blast! #CodeNewbie #learntocode
Day 23 of #100DaysOfCode Played around with a timer for my meditation app - I found some resources to help me do it all in CSS! Most meditation apps use a circle, so maybe I can think of an alternative that is just as relaxing. Thinking about how I could do a "wave" animation...
