Umpire Adrian Johnson (ranked 75th of 92) missed 14 calls in game 2 of the World Series. He had a correct call rate of just 87.3%. For context, the lowest rated umpire this season had an average correct rate of 89.7%.
After the crappy way the Phillies season ended…..I needed this. It may not last for long but glad to have a competitive team to root for each Sunday. Imagine saying that 10 years ago.

My last umpire rant of season. Gratefully ABS will eliminate this nonsense. It’s crazy that the technology exists but not being used right now. Humans cannot correctly call balls and strikes at this level. Robots can. Let them do the job.
Cristopher Sánchez said the umpire apologized to him for missing the 2-2 pitch to Alex Call in the seventh. What should have been a strikeout became a walk, and that runner went on to score the tying run.
