Incredible work by advocate groups and the families who fought tirelessly to get the Government to agree to a statutory inquiry into CHI. Families deserve truth, answers and accountability.
We are meeting tomorrow with @SimonHarrisTD and @CarrollJennifer. This meeting is of critical importance to every family we and @SBH_PAG represent. Over years of advocacy, we have met hundreds of children and families whose lives have been devastated by delays in care…
Harvey was allegedly labelled as ‘palliative’ despite three separate surgeons all recommending surgery. Harvey was never linked to a palliative care team, nowhere in his medical records is he referred to as palliative, and nobody ever even uttered the word to us. He was not…

“In October 2024, she said former CHI deputy chief executive, Stephen Flanagan, raised concerns about patients on the list who appeared to be improperly listed.” ‼️ Who holds responsibility for deciding a child’s surgical wait listing - and on what basis? @BernardGloster ⁉️…
👉🏻Outsourcing underutilised 👉🏻Wait list management poor 👉🏻Incentive to suspend patients as “Active List” only list consistently reported by the media (despite we explaining - all children are waiting regardless of category of wait list). 👉🏻Toxic culture prevails 👉🏻Poor…
I recently done an interview with my local newspaper explaining scoliosis and how I have no faith in Simon Harris anymore! #scoliosis #StatutoryInquiryNow
My story with some pictures of my scoliosis through the years! Things need to change children cannot keep going through this pain and suffering anymore #scoliosis #StatutoryInquiryNow vm.tiktok.com/ZNdvFHPXu/
According to the spinal waitlists, the number of children waiting over 6 months has come down since the 2017 promise. Which in theory sounds positive, but I would love to see how the number of children being deemed ‘not fit for surgery’ compares. How many children are being…
William Clooney speaks of his son Cathal who went in to Crumlin for a #scoliosis surgery … a surgery that should have helped him. Six weeks later, Cathal was dead. William is speaking out because Cathal’s death must be investigated and nothing short of a full public statutory…
The time for change is now! We need answers and accountability. #scoliosis #StatutoryInquiryNow @scolionetwork shannonside.ie/news/longford-…
Thank you for giving me a platform to speak out about my story. #scoliosis
@Kiracabs well done 👏 great interview and your voice is most important having lived experience of the delays in care. #scoliosis @scolionetwork LISTEN: Longford woman speaks about the challenges for children with Scoliosis shannonside.ie/podcasts/lets-… via @
Well it’s very hurtful as a mother. That your child is not worthy of communication or a reply. I wrote and was signposted to TAS despite there being a outsourcing agreement in place. That shows the absolute dysfunction & lack of understanding of the needs of our children
We seem to keep putting all our faith in ‘clinical decisions’. A reminder @1Hildegarde that ‘clinical decisions’ led to: - non CE approved devices being implanted in to children’s spines - unnecessary hip surgeries potentially performed on hundreds or thousands of children -…
In this video I explain my story and how the long term effects of being on a waiting list still remain with me today! #scoliosis #StatutoryInquiryNow vm.tiktok.com/ZNd78N8xW/
Very hard to stomach this debate when our son is left abandoned on a wait list for his #scoliosis surgery. @CHI_Ireland Wait listed 14 Nov ‘24 No option for treatment abroad ever offered. Something stinks & children are paying the price. @SimonHarrisTD @CarrollJennifer
This is the speech I made in the Dáil yesterday, the impact waiting lists have on my life and how I’m still in chronic pain daily! Please take the time to read and know the real effects delayed care has on a persons life. #scoliosis @scolionetwork
On the day the Dáil holds a confidence vote in @SimonHarrisTD, we must acknowledge the human cost of delayed care. Kira Carberry — who took part in the RTÉ Investigates documentary Living on the List 2017 — spoke at yesterday’s Dáil briefing. Below is her full speech. Good…
Today we were 1 of 3 families who spoke about the death of their child under CHI.We listened to children and adults who told their stories going through the system. We heard from parents who were reported to @tusla for speaking out by staff at CHI. Today CHI lost all credibility.
Today Aontú launched a motion of No Confidence against Simon Harris. Children have suffered excruciating pain, serious disability & some have died. Harris promised no child would have to wait more than 4 months for an operation He failed in this & CHI decended into dysfunction
