Great to meet with @wmataGM Randy Clarke today! 🚇🚌 Metro is the #1 transit agency in the nation and one of Virginia's greatest assets. We must keep Metro strong for the thousands of Virginians who rely on it each day to get where they need to go.
There was a time where this building was scheduled to be demolished and Jackie O saved it. Oh to live in a world where this country actually cares about trains.
113 years of history, trains and commutes. Join us in wishing Grand Central Terminal a happy birthday!
For $7.7 Billion we could fully complete the Roosevelt Boulevard Subway!
The western extension of the Second Avenue Subway has a $7.7-billion price tag that calls into question the very logic of building it — but advocates and researchers say the train is a good idea that could cost a lot less with some minor alterations. nyc.streetsblog.org/2026/02/03/doe…
On #TransitEquityDay, every Metro bus and train will reserve a seat for Rosa Parks. We’re celebrating her birthday and honoring her legacy. Stay tuned tomorrow, Feb. 4! 🎉 #RosaParksDay
I had this experience several years ago. There’s enough traffic between Shanghai and Nanjing that they have 2 high-speed lines.
Dos trenes circulan paralelos. El efecto óptico provoca miedo a la persona que graba este momento, aunque también se oyen risas. Y no es de extrañar. 📹 La.ciencia.afirma
If you are following this eternal thread about public transit to the airport, don't miss my evergreen explainer: humantransit.org/2016/03/keys-t…
The elite obsession with extra-comfortable transit to the airport has been the source of many expensive projects that failed in ridership terms. I've used transit to airports all over the world. If I can't handle a little inconvenience, I take a taxi. Chicago's trains are fine.
Public transportation keeps our economy moving, and federal investment helps make that possible. With support from @FTA_DOT grants, South FL’s @Tri_Rail is partnering with @SiemensMobility to add 7 upgraded, American-made trains to its commuter rail fleet. (1/2)
Modular construction can build housing faster and cheaper than traditional methods, but can Philadelphia convince developers to set up factories here? bizjournals.com/philadelphia/n…

The grandeur of the long-abandoned Buffalo Central Terminal (Buffalo, New York), captured in the winter of 2024. It officially closed in 1979, ending 50 years of service as a major passenger rail hub. Today, it reminds us of what rail travel in the United States once was...
If a groundhog gets a day to predict the future, New Yorkers deserve a city that plans for one. Affordable housing, good transit, real public space — all year long.
A reminder that NYC killed outdoor dining and has stopped bus lanes in the name of saving street parking, and yet on Park Avenue, with some of the most expensive real estate in the world, cars park for a week at a time without being used.
We overbuild stations like the IND did in the 1930s. Stations could be more modest in size and still work well.
Cost controls on these big capital projects should be the #1 priority of any progressive transportation policy. This is an existential threat not only to the future of transit, but the future of affordable housing and economic development in cities.

Reminder: We're fast approaching a possible work stoppage for the Hudson Tunnel. Funding the tunnel is about avoiding catastrophe. The entire Northeast Corridor depends on it. njbiz.com/hudson-tunnel-…
This is basically what I expect the subway map to look like when I die in 75 years
If there were French style HSR on the East Coast the trip between NYC/Philly would take about 35 minutes and cost $25-$30 on a typical weekday. (Womp)
If we had true high-speed rail, it would take longer to commute from Coney Island to Manhattan than it would to take the Acela from Philadelphia. Imagine how many housing shortages could be solved if Albany and Philadelphia were within an hour’s commute.
What state has the best statewide transit and why is it New Jersey
Rain or Shine the Roosevelt Boulevard Subway will be there for Northeast Philadelphians.
