In ecology, data for long time-series is really an issue. But in palaeoecology, they can use plant pollen and fungi spores to study past ecosystem's composition! Moreover, @HugoSaizB has shown also how human impacts last for tens and hundreds of years after abandoning the land!
Impactful talk from Dani Oro @ceabcsic on climate change ecology on diverse species like butterflies, small mammals, seabirds, reptiles, and even Posidonia meadows. They see shifts in fertility, survival rates, migration patterns, habitat selection, and flowering events. Amazing!
