I think the whole Nudge thing is yet another example of what happens when an intuitively appealing, easy to understand and zeitgeisty idea gets picked up and promoted by sort of celebrity researchers. If it sounds too good to be true then...you know. theconversation.com/nudge-theory-w…

Here's my new piece in the @FT with @richardsusskind on the impact of generative AI on the professions. This is a new chapter in a story we have been telling for the last decade. In short, the professions are not prepared for what lies ahead. -- ft.com/content/96a187…

We've reached a point with the weekly #LDInsight chat where we think it's time to stop this chat. It's not a decision we've come to lightly. The volunteers who run the chat have been discussing this for some weeks now.

It’s not on any front pages, but @Jeremy_Hunt has announced a much bigger than many expected set of policy changes for his ‘back to work’ focused Budget. Will have real impacts on people’s lives so take a break from football/immigration…

And this heuristic for sense making that I picked up from @AndyLancasterUK ... to ask of any information ... What? So what? What next? #LDInsight

"The real problem here is libel law, and how it can be used by the powerful to silence people who criticise them" To me that’s the most important lesson from the Zahawi affair. Tax law worked fine. HMRC did it’s job. Libel law is broken.

"I had no idea that a senior politician could say things that were just not true and take legal action or threaten to take legal action on that basis." Nadhim Zahawi used libel law to stop journalists from exposing his taxes, says @DanNeidle on #TimesRadio.

Wear trousers instead of shorts? Eat porridge not granola? I'm curious about the seduction of "differently" when sometimes we just need to keep doing what we're doing. Peter Block's "Nothing is next" was a game changer for me in this respect #LDInsight
