Our peaceful protest was because another preventable school shooting happened at Covenant School in Nashville & the People's House chose to ignore them and expel us instead! We must work tirelessly to protect our kids, communities, to end gun violence, and protect our democracy.

This nation was built on peaceful protest. No elected official should lose their job simply for raising their voice – especially when they’re doing it on behalf of our children.

The Ottoman Empire limited the dissemination of printed books, fearing religious & political upheaval. Consequently, it missed out on the Enlightenment & lost its dominant status in science, technology, & ultimately lost its economic and military influence.

Restricting interstate travel for any reason other than to commit a crime is unconstitutional. Traveling to a state to have an abortion isn’t committing a crime if you’re traveling to a state where abortion is legal. Idaho knows they’re passing an unconstitutional law

Wow. An Idaho hospital says it will stop delivering babies due to “increasing criminalization of physicians” and doctor shortages resulting from the state’s abortion ban. theguardian.com/us-news/2023/m…

Oh my God. Idaho Republicans have passed a bill that would create a new crime called “abortion trafficking” which would restrict travel to other states to get an abortion and charge violators with a felony and minimum of 2 to 5 years in prison. huffpost.com/entry/idaho-ab…

Idaho Is About To Be The First State To Restrict Interstate Travel For Abortion Post-Roe

A bill would create a whole new crime — dubbed “abortion trafficking” — a felony offense that aims to limit minors’ ability to travel for abortion care without parental consent.

Idaho Republicans just passed a new bill banning the use of student IDs to vote after young voters saw a massive 66% surge in registration in the last 4 years. Gun licenses will still be allowed. idahocapitalsun.com/2023/02/20/ida…

376 cops at Uvaulde. 21 dead. It's the guns.

I am a paediatric emergency physician working in Australia. I have NEVER seen a gunshot wound in a child, and have not seen a gunshot wound in anyone for over 20 years. This cause of death is the result of "choices" by politicians and the people they represent.

Elizabeth Rodriguez reposted

There is only one way to treat a severe or deadly gunshot wound in a pediatric patient… you must prevent it from occurring. Like bicycle helmets and car seats, gun violence against children is a healthcare issue.

This is very much a “downstream technology”. Would all americans have to carry these - or have them available in shops and schools? As a UK doctor I have never seen or treated GSW in 40 years of practice.

The statistics say that gun violence is the leading cause of death for children in the US. That isn't politics, that's reality.
