slightly hesitant to recommend since it costs 💰💰💰 and the free version is less than useless for javascript. that said it’s a totally diff paradigm than vim and now that i grok it i’m as efficient if not more so than with vim with a much lower learning/configuration curve
You CAN turn #lawns back to nature: This was all flat grass in the 1980s, largely unused, with much expensive mowing. Now it's thriving dunes, bird habitat--and a low-cost buffer against hurricanes. #SpringLake, NJ.
Data is what matters most in your application. Backends come and go, frontends come and go even faster. But your data stably remains the spine of your application. That's why I care about data integrity and think it should be heavily considered when designing DB migrations.
I would use an ad blocker. I would use a password manager. I would block third-party cookies in the browser. These last three are steps that absolutely everyone should consider, because they're simple, cost little or nothing, and protect you while making your phone faster.
After the Mueller report, Congress had a duty to begin impeachment. By failing to act, Congress is complicit in Trump’s latest attempt to solicit foreign interference to aid him in US elections. Do your constitutional duty and impeach the president.
We've reached out to major music festivals and asked them to make a clear commitment that they will not use invasive #facialrecogntion technology on music fans. Some have gotten back to us. Some haven't. We're keeping score, and we'll let you know soon. banfacialrecognition.com/festivals
Upgraded my rowing app to React Native 0.61.0-rc.3 and the new fast refresh is dope! Thanks @dan_abramov
Backends are indeed needlessly, and extremely complicated! This is what I've been trying to say for years, starting with the famous table from EiA, which first shaped in my mind around 2012, after a few years of working with Erlang.
yeah algorithms are great but not a single programming course prepares you for what happens the first time you're asked to stay late at work

Bizarre quote from @5thWardChicago in @fspielman's column in this morning's @Suntimes in which she says the #SouthShoreNatureSanctuary is "all dead." This is what it looks like right now, for reference. chicago.suntimes.com/city-hall/2019… (Thread)
I've come to hate git squash. I rely on `git blame` to tell me a story. When things are squashed, I lose the history. Now I just get some generic title, but the context is lost (or very difficult to track down in a PR somewhere...)
