As we wind down 2019, I wanted to share with you my annual list of favorites that made the last year a little brighter. We’ll start with books today — movies and music coming soon. I hope you enjoy these as much as I did.
Families should be able to get an education without being drowned in debt. They should be able to go to work without child care costs eating up their paychecks. They should be able to get the health care they need without risking bankruptcy. We need big, structural change.
Taxpayers have paid $115 million so Donald Trump could play golf at his own resorts. Amazon got $129 million in tax rebates last year. Meanwhile, the average person in poverty gets just $134 a month in nutrition assistance. This is what a rigged economy looks like.
