A wild guess: #Finland would score even better in median salaries. Purchasing power is definitely not a problem in Finland. That is, if you have a job.
It would be hard to find a textbook explanation for what’s happening in #Finland. The GDP stagnates but purchasing power rises. It is a mixture of low inflation and the delayed effect of strong collective bargaining. Pretty unique.

In most EU countries, the share of #social expenditure rises despite the fact that the GDP rises as well. In #Finland, the GDP is stagnant, but social expenditures rise anyway. L’Europe sociale is alive and kicking.
