This issue is now resolved: The number of items reported dropped due to a temporary reporting issue. This issue has since been resolved and the numbers will return in the near future.
Thanks for reporting this, @brodieseo , @RedCardinal & @PedroDias . The team has been looking into this and is working to resolve it. This is a Search Console reporting issue, and not related to indexing or ranking.
Heads-up: if you're noticing a significant decline in valid pages in Google Search Console across various reports (CWV, HTTPs, AMP etc.), you're not alone. Seeing a large drop in valid items across various properties. I'm sure we'll get feedback from Google shortly.
